If you are one of the nominees for the One Lovely Blog Award you must do the following:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link to them in your post.
- Share seven unknown things about yourself.
- Nominate other bloggers and blogs you like or admire… 15 or so if possible (see below my list…)

The second “rule” demands that you share seven unknown things about yourself… This is my list:
1) In 2011 my weight was much higher than it should be. By monitoring caloric burn and intake, I lost fifty pounds.
2) I was a class VP in college.
3) I sang bass in high school and college choruses.
4) I was a Civil Air Patrol cadet officer.
5) I am the son of a Pearl Harbor Attack survivor.
6) For a few years, I lived in a house with a wood stove, no indoor plumbing and loved it.
7) I have driven non-stop to a destination 975 miles away.

I should have said I stopped only for gas and snacks! On the primitive conditions, we lived in an old tenant house for awhile after buying the farm and prior to moving into a modern dwelling. Enjoyed it, really!

Hahaha! We drive to Wisconsin every year and I know how long that trip can be, but I have always traded off driving. 975 miles yourself is amazing! Danny did that because of necessity when he traveled back to Wisconsin in a day, before we got married! You guys are troopers!

975 miles straight! Wow! I pulled just about the same distance once. No fun. Had a buddy who suddenly developed a fear of cars when we were in Florida. Had to make it back to Michigan for class the next day. Lots of caffeine for me, and lots of valium for him.

If memory serves me right, your blog was one of the first social media blogs I followed after starting in social media last summer.
As to that drive. It was from Fort Worth, Tx to Saint Paul, MN. I made three such trips, non-stop both ways while producing a video for a Fort Worth based company with a project there. 🙂

It has been years since I sang in public but I still have a deep appreciation for music, performing arts and fine art. After reading American Dream, I sense we have much of that in common. 🙂
I used to drive non-stop from Two Rivers WI to St. Louis Park, MN (about 300 miles) and thought that was a long drive (no pit stops). Can’t imagine over 900 miles alone. Hope you had a good radio! (I see Susie drives to Wisconsin, too.)

Again, I’m honored to have been listed with the folks on your list 🙂 As to me singing, in the choirs and choruses, we sang classics for the most part. I’m afraid my favorite pop-genre was 60s folk. While passé now, those tunes continue to resonate with me.
